Liner notes:

Patti comes from Islip, Long Island, New York. At age 3 ½ she showed ability with the family piano. With strong family support she began studies with a piano teacher. Years later as a classily trained pianist she discovered Jazz as a college student. That discovery turned to love of the music and she quickly developed as a jazz pianist and singer. Recognized for her considerable abilities, she began working around New York City and gained experience and acceptance in many well-known jazz rooms. As a trio leader she worked with several highly regarded bass players and drummers. Her group appeared at college concerts and other jazz venues. She lived and worked in Florida, New York again and in Maine, gaining recognition and a large following wherever she appeared. In Florida again her trio with Don Payne on bass inspired Don to produce a CD for her. Performances during the late 90's have created a online cult following and wide acceptance. The future looks bright for Patti Wicks, the long overdue recognition of her greatness will surely come easier as a recording artist, look for the subtle, the real, in her interpretations within this collection.
